NTSE is like a treasure hunt for brainy kids. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has been running this show since 1963 to find and support talented students. This year, it's just for 10th graders!

Well, how does free money for studying sound? 💰 If you crack this exam, you get:

  • Rs. 1250 per month for 11th and 12th grade
  • Rs. 2000 per month for college
  • Even more for Ph.D.!

Important Dates 📅

Stage I (State Level)

  • Last day to apply: Check with your state
  • Exam date:
  • November 4, 2024 (for Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands)
  • November 5, 2024 (for all other places)

Stage II (National Level)

  • Exam date: June 2025 (exact date coming soon)

Are you eligible? 🤔

  • You should be in 10th grade
  • You need 61% marks in 9th grade (56% for reserved categories)
  • Even if you're studying from home, you can apply if you're under 18

What's in the exam? 📚

It's all about what you've learned up to 10th grade, plus some brain teasers!

Exam Pattern 📝

Stage I (State Level)

Two parts, 2 hours each:

  1. Mental Ability Test (MAT) - 100 questions
  2. Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) - 100 questions (Science, Social Science, Math)

Stage II (National Level)

Same pattern as Stage I, but harder!

How to apply? 🖊️

  1. Get the form from your State Liaison Officer or download it from NCERT's website
  2. Fill it out
  3. Get your principal to sign it
  4. Submit it to your State Liaison Officer

What about fees? 💲

NCERT doesn't charge for Stage I, but your state might. Check with your State Liaison Officer.

Selection Process 🏆

  1. Pass Stage I in your state
  2. Qualify for Stage II at the national level
  3. Ace the interview
